In order to check whether this issue is at the coded UI test/test case, please create a new and simple coded UI test, associate it to a new test case and then run it from MTM to check the result. Maybe the issue is related to MTM environment. If the error message is collected in TFS database but not displayed in MTM, I suggest that you run the test case from another MTM 2012 if you have other environment to check the result. Please check whether the error message is collected in TFS database. The DimTestResult table in TFS database provides details about the test results. And I find it seems that we will see ‘Error Messages’ textbox under Resolution only when the error message display in Error Message field. The playback errors of coded UI test can display in Error Message filed.
